It's the Soldier
It's the soldier, not the reporter who has given us
Freedom of the Press.
It's the soldier, not the poet, who has given us
Freedom of Speech.
It's the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the
Freedom to Demonstrate.
It's the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the
Right to a Fair Trial.
It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who gives the protestor the right to burn the flag.
~Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC
This is one of my favorite poems EVER. I'm cross-posting this to all the military communities I'm in, sorry if I'm bothering you with it!

Brian got home, and we spent a week and a half together. He went back to Camp Shelby yesterday, so now just one month, and then he's back in Pa with me for good..I can't wait! We had such a great week together, I can't wait until he's with me permanently.
I'm so lucky to have such a great boyfriend, I flew to NC to see him, got to the hotel room and he had roses, candles, wine, and diamond earrings waiting for me. We flew back to Pa and spent a week here, then off to Baltimore Inner Harbor for my birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better visit...gosh, I love that guy!( PicsCollapse )
Hey guys. I'm not one to post often, but this has been bothering me.
Tyler was able to come home in the summer after he graduated AIT (but he'd been in for almost a year -- he had a delayed start to basic training for almost 6 months because of mono, tonsilitis, and other things) for a month (from June 9th until July 9th or something of those sorts, haha). Well, he's been in Korea since then for his first deployment.
I know all deployments get at least a two week leave somewhere in their time, correct? Tyler was told he had to take his between his 6th and 8th month of being in Korea. He just recently turned in his request forms. Now, when he turned these in, apparently he had to write down how many days of leave he's been granted, which I think is listed on the AKO website. He has 4 days of leave. Now, will they not grant him his two weeks that I've never heard a soldier of not getting? Or will this just become a negative number (which it technically is a -2 right now because they screwed up, but they've informed him that after they fix it, it should be 4 days). He told me they get two days of leave a month, and by February he'd have 10, but it has to be the amount of days he has when he turns the form in, which he has to turn in now?
I'm confused on this entire situation. Basically, my question is, will he be able to come home in February for about two weeks? Or will the Army tell him he only has 4 days (which would be useless because he'd really only be HOME for 2 considering traveling time)?
I'm not asking CAN the Army do that because I know the Army does what they want, I'm just asking if in your opinion/knowledge if they WOULD to this to him?
PLEASE HELP ME! Haha.
(I don't believe I'm violating any OPSEC terms with this considering there's no exact locations -- they're so many in Korea -- or dates? If there is, I'll be glad to edit it!)

Subject: What's Wrong With This Picture?...
If you look closely at the picture above, you will note that all the Marines pictured are bowing their heads. That's because they're praying.
This incident took place at a recent ceremony honoring the birthday of the corps, and it has the ACLU up in arms. "These are federal employees," says Lucius Traveler, a spokesman for the ACLU, "on federal property and on federal time. For them to pray is clearly an establishment of religion, and we must nip this in the bud immediately."
When asked about the ACLU's charges, Colonel Jack Fessender, speaking for the Commandant of the Corps said (cleaned up a bit), "Screw the ACLU." GOD Bless Our Warriors, Send the ACLU to France.
Please send this to people you know so everyone will know how stupid the ACLU is Getting in trying to remove GOD from everything and every place in America. May God Bless America, One Nation Under GOD!
What's wrong with the picture? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
GOD BLESS YOU FOR
PASSING IT ON!
I am sorry but I am not breaking this one.....Let us pray
Prayer chain for our Military...please don't break it
Please send this on after a short prayer.
Prayer for our soldiers...please don't break it
"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they
protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they
perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our
Lord and Savior. Amen."
Prayer Request: When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a
prayer for our troops around the world.
There is no! thing attached.... .. Just send this to all the
people in your address book. Do not let it stop with you, please....
Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine &others
deployed in harm's way,
Prayer is the very best one
want to see the pic email me and i'll send it to u

If you've been rejected for any of the communities that I moderate, please go and read ALL the rules.
If I can not find info on your journal as to who you are or even a reason why you'd want to join the community, I will be rejecting applications just because I don't want drama. The communities are for support, not pissed off trolls trying to cause trouble. So if you want to be part of the communities, put some info about you (AND your soldier/relationship) on your info page so that I can sort of see who or what you're about. If you have a friends only journal and nothing on your info page and 1 or 2 friends, don't plan on being accepted...it's just a safety precaution for existing members.

Maybe this is off subject, and if so im sorry but I need to vent.
My husband was living with his oldest brother (35) before he was deployed. Then when we decided to get married they made an arrangement with me that I would be living with his brother while Todd was on deployment. I would pay the cable bill, todd would continue to pay his half of the rent, which technically now pays for me to be here and if Joey (his bro) needed extra money for bills, I would be happy to give it to him.
So things at first were fine....i mean were little things here and there that annoyed me or annoyed him...but for the most part we were ok. We watched movies together had cigarettes outside together and talked...like a family. Then the past couple weeks, its been bad. All of a sudden. I dyed my hair in the bathroom and I got dye in the shower. He flipped shit. I cleaned it...its gone. End of discussion. I aplpgized and so on. Hes still pissy. THEN, I was 5 days late on the cable bill because of the way my pay period goes. He found out cause we were having a problem with the interent and they told him the bill was past due. They ASSURED him the reason for the problem was NOT due to the over due bill but i got a lecture. Then THEN! The interent was down the past like 3 days....and i thought it was cause of the weather we have been having...well i asked joey to help me with my computer just now and I was informed by him that he had it down on PURPOSE!!!! Because I was late on the bill. 5 days! I mean its paid now, its all good. Nothing was shut off, it doesnt even show up as a late payment! UGH. I mean Todd is in a lease here with Joey...it was something they discussed before and after we were married..it gives me a stable (yet not sane) place to stay and then joey doesnt have to pay all the rent himself or make him have to move...it was a good arrangement. Im not sure how things got so messed up. I mean we all have our issues, and Todd says to me all the time he thinks the reason why me and joey get along so well is because we have a lot of the same issues (anxiety, emotions) and we understand eachother. But on the other hand thats why we clash too. Im not sure what to do anymore. I mean, i have to respect joey cause its his house blah blah...but Im Todds WIFE. I mean we're one now right? I have every right to be here as much as him....and if he hates me being here, just tell me to leave...dont play games. Dont run to Todd and complain about me.
Theres so much other stuff going on...between stress at work, and being sick ALL THE TIME. The radiation makes me so sick. Ive had a 101 degree fever the past 4 days....Again im sorry this is off subject...i just...i need todd home. I feel like im breaking...im just hanging here and im just gonna fall any minute. Thank god for Chrissy...i dont know what i would do without her.
Im gonna go cry myself to sleep now. I just feel so useless.

What a freaking way to start off the day. Im having a horrible morning. Where is my husband when I needhim. I knwo he is prolly sleeping and I dont want to call and wake him but hes not online either and just *UGH*. Meep.
I just had my ex of 5 yrs call me and start screaming at me to come get my cat out of there. Last I checked when I left him, he wanted the cat and now all of a sudden its MY cat. Right. Hes screaming and im just not in a good state of mind right now for that.
I have radiation and more testing today and Im scared and nervous about that, Im getting my "friend" so my hormones are on high gear today and like commercials are making me cry and all I want is Todd and hes not around. Maybe Im selfish and silly but his voice just soothes me and calms me down.
My SIL whos awesome was being so nice and trying to make me feel better and she totally did but I still miss my baby :( Im gonna go back to work and try to get thru the day.
Bye for Now
